Mission
Eliminate prejudice against Middle Eastern and Islamic countries by directly creating contact and dialogue between students, academics, business- owners, artists and working professionals.
How it started
Living and visiting different parts of the world has pushed me to truly appreciate the beauty every place has to offer, as well as understand the difficulties and different situations people face. Most times these difficulties are similar throughout cultures; what is lacking is a common ground for cooperation and collective problem-solving. The missing link is the readiness to break paradigms and be open to collaboration. My passion is to be able to create that platform for collaboration, to allow cultures to ideologically clash in a positive and constructive manner and shift towards a new form of problem-solving where knowledge and ideas come before names and appearances. This is the core of the Breaking Barriers Initiative (BBI): eliminating the initial barrier to communication due to misconceptions of another's' culture.
